The Judicial Council will look into the verdict in the case of the death of Teodora Ristovska (22) from Tetovo.
The decision of the Judicial Council to form a working group over this case follows after the general dissatisfaction of the public with the verdict in this case, when Judge Elvedin Ferati gave a prison sentence of two year to Mensur Pajaziti, who ran over and killed Ristovska in Tetovo in 2022.
PM Hristijan Mickoski and Justice Minister Igor Filkov voiced dissatisfaction with the verdict too, with PM Mickoski calling upon the Judicial Council to reexamine the verdict.
Judge Ferati is known to the public after at the end of 2023, the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption revealed that he corrected his own grades during his law studies at the Tetovo State University in order to be able to enroll in the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors in Skopje.
