Judicial Council Holds Session

An hour before the start of Parliament’s session over the no-confidence motions against five of its members, Vesna Dameva, Selim Ademi, Tanja Cacarova-Ilievska, Milazim Mustafa, and Pavlina Crvenkovska, the Judicial Council held a session itself.

It saw several decisions made, including one to elect a new Secretary of the body, as well as a presentation of reports on work of courts in the last three months of 2024. In addition, a working group to determine a judge’s accountability was formed.

Cacarova-Ilievska said she wouldn’t attend the session in Parliament, reiterating her stand that a no-confidence motion against a Judicial Council member was an unconstitutional act.

All five members had previously said, in writing, in their respective answers to the legislative house, that they didn’t feel moral and professional responsibility and that they wouldn’t resign if the no-confidence motions were successful.
