Just 22 of 50 Discos and Nightclubs have Valid License, Inspectors Find during Controls

In the last two days, the State Market Inspectorate has conducted controls at 50 discos and nightclubs, finding that just 22 of them have a valid license. The licenses of 15 are expired, while there are no data whatsoever on some facilities.

It is being checked whether all 22 with a valid license meet minimum technical criteria to operate. Those that have an expired license or don’t have licenses to begin with have been issued a ban on operations that will be in force until all documents are checked and until it is determined whether they can resume operations and secure an additional license.

The Economy Ministry, on its part, with regards to the issued licenses, is checking whether there is again a case of abuse of the archive number or other oversights, Government Spokesperson Marija Miteva has said.
