Oncology Clinic Director Violeta Klisarova says there has been and will be a lack of medications at the institution because there is not enough money to procure therapy for all patients, whose number is on the rise on a daily basis.
According to her, in addition to the limited budget, another problem is that therapy is given to patients not foreseen in advance. So, the supplier needs several days to deliver new quantities.
Klisarova adds that the patients that didn’t receive PHESGO on Monday morning were called as early as the afternoon to get the therapy. This therapy is procured only for 45 patients, but it is given to 135, she points out.
“It’s not about bad management. We need more funds,” she says.
