Kocani Fire: Suspect Dimitrov Reports himself to Authorities

Sasko Dimitrov, the retired Stip police officer, who’s among the suspects in the Kocani fire case has reported himself to the authorities.

“After he’d done so this morning, he was taken to a judge in the previous procedure”, the Prosecutor’s Office said on Thursday.

Half of the 14 police officers who are suspects in the case are pensioners and under investigation for actions and documents drawn up from 2012 to March 2023. The dismissed Commander of the Kocani Police Station, too, is under investigation for that.

So far, no current police chief that held office when the fire happened has been covered by the investigation.
