Kocevski-Ordered Supervision Activities Carried out over Abazi’s Office

On Wednesday, supervision activities, ordered by Chief Public Prosecutor Ljupco Kocevski, were carried out over the Islam Abazi-headed Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption.

The activities came a week after Abazi had presented, before the Council of Public Prosecutors, on his institution’s work in 2023. During the presentation, he didn’t refer to any case concerning officials or some other persons, only talking about acts which had seen most cases, including drug trafficking and migrant smuggling.

After the event, Abazi declined to answer journalists’ questions about Bechtel ENKA, Soravia, and cases related to last year’s Criminal Code changes. Abazi only stated that he would answer journalists’ questions at the briefing with all prosecutors that Kocevski would organise next Wednesday. It remains unknown so far what will come out of the supervision.
