Kurti Comments on Pristina-Skopje Relations, VLEN, and Other Topics

In an interview with New Jersey-based Struga Albanian American Cultural Centre (AACC), Kosovan PM Albin Kurti says his country and North Macedonia have very good relations, as two countries that are orientated towards the West, while the agreements signed between them and the fact that Skopje’s a member of NATO, are a result of that.

Asked about the actions of VLEN, he says that he personally doesn’t believe achievements by ethnic Albanians are being endangered, adding that VLEN needs to be given a little time for consolidation within the ruling coalition.

The Kosovan PM points out that he has full support from North Macedonia for the project for a tunnel to connect Prizren and Tetovo.

When it comes to his relations with the previous, SDSM-DUI-led, government, Kurti points out that though they had been good at the start, as proven by the joint session in September 2021, something then changed and North Macedonia became an active member of Open Balkan, something which he doesn’t like.
