The Lesya Ukrainka Association of Ukrainians in North Macedonia has criticised the decision regarding Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s participation in the OSCE Ministerial Council.
“We want to highlight that we highly appreciate the assistance and support so far from North Macedonia in every area, but we find unacceptable and not understandable the argument that the Government’s decision to admit Lavrov is dictated because North Macedonia holds the OSCE Chairpersonship-in-Office and there needs to be a distinction between the visit’s bilateral and multilateral character, with Skopje just being a location for the OSCE event, while the decision has been made according to the one of the EU regarding the sanctions, with the exception of events related to the OSCE, to other international organisations,” it noted on Tuesday.
