Levica’s support for the draft-changes to the Law on Organisation and Work of State Administration Bodies, filed by VMRO-DPMNE, over which the session of Parliament will be held on Friday, is conditional.
As Dimitar Apasiev’s party said on Wednesday, its six MPs will support the text only if there is, at the same time, a vote to make the country a single electoral district.
“Introducing a single electoral district in the Republic of Macedonia is necessary in order for every vote by citizens in the elections to be valued equally. For years already, in its reports, the OSCE Mission has recommended this model. This is not supposed to be a problem in terms of acceptance by [VMRO-]DPMNE, considering they, in their programme and in their pre-election promises, announced such a systemic decision,” it pointed out.
