Mickoski Reacts to Dutch Ambassador’s Statements on Rule of Law

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said that the things Dutch Ambassador Dirk Jan Kop told DUI leader Ahmeti on Wednesday, VMRO-DPMNE have been speaking about for the past 7 years.

“The Dutch Ambassador said all the things we’ve been saying ever since SDSM and DUI took over power, that the judiciary is totally corrupted and particised, that judges are constantly under political pressures, and that new judges and prosecutors are selected and promoted based solely on party affiliation. It is obvious that SDSM and DUI rush to appoint judges close to them in order to save their skin once VMRO-DPMNE assumes power and prosecutes them for their crimes,” Mickoski said.

Previously, FM and DUI Spokesperson Bujar Osmani stated that the Dutch Ambassador met with Ahmeti in order to seek support for promotion of rule of law, namely because DUI has been the party that spoke about rule of law the most.

PM Kovacevski called upon Supreme Court President Besa Ademi to publicly reveal who and what for applied political pressure over her and her work.

“I encourage anyone in the judiciary, if they face pressures of any kind, to reveal those cases,” Kovacevski said. Referring to the Dutch Ambassador’s comment on the decline of rule of law over the past 2 years, Kovacevski said that the judicial authorities should deal with that matter.
