Minister Mucunski Addresses PACE Autumn Session

On Thursday, Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski participated in the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), taking place in Strasbourg from 30 September to 4 October.

In his address, he underlined the role of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as the importance of strengthening the European Convention on Human Rights, especially the implementation of judgments by members.

When it comes to North Macedonia’s EU path, he stated that it was still obstructed by obstacles that looked increasingly unjust, adding that that tested the people’s patience.

“Imagine the disappointment of a nation that’s done everything asked of it, only to be told that the goal is still unattainable,” he said, asking how hope could be kept when there was a sense that the EU’s principles themselves, solidarity, justice, and unity, were unevenly applied.
