On Thursday, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski delivered an address at the EU-Western Balkans Ministerial Forum on Justice and Home Affairs being organised by North Macedonia’s Interior Ministry together with the Spanish EU Presidency, underlining the importance of togetherness.
“It’s not a coincidence that all of us have gathered here together. It’s a fact that making common policies is just a precondition for common functioning in the frames of the EU. The door is open,” he stated.
Spasovski thanked Spain’s Presidency for the honour to host the event and the EU and Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson that acknowledge North Macedonia’s unwavering pledges for joining the EU as soon as possible, the Ministry said in the press-release. Spasovski’s Spanish counterpart, Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gomez, who is representing the EU Presidency, is among the participants.
The first session ended with messages for support for the Western Balkans’ EU integration and increased cooperation regarding home affairs.
