Ministry Rebuts ‘Speculations’ About Alleged Prevented Kidnapping Attempt

On Tuesday, the Interior Ministry rebutted as it said, speculations, about an alleged prevented attempt to kidnap a juvenile from a schoolyard in Karbinci Municipality.

“According to the official report to police, today, at 9:52 am, it was reported to the Stip Internal Affairs Sector by a primary school in Karbinci, that a Golf passenger vehicle driven by a young male came to the schoolyard. The male, according to the report, invited a female student to get in his car for them to go to a coffee place. However, she immediately returned to the school and reported the matter to the head-teacher,” the Ministry explained.

Previously, several media had reported that there had been an attempt to kidnap two children from the school. Telma quoted Mayor Viktor Paunov as saying that kidnappers in a Golf with Skopje licence plates had tried to forcibly put two kids in the vehicle, but they had been stopped in doing so by other students and school personnel.
