Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis has fiercely criticised President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova’s non-use of the constitutional name during the swearing-in ceremony on Sunday.
On social media on Monday, he said she had violated North Macedonia’s Constitution and the Prespa Agreement.
As the Greek PM noted, the use of the constitutional name, avoiding provocations, and respecting the Agreement are key to the progress of bilateral relations and Skopje’s EU perspective. Monday also saw a new reaction from Brussels.
“We honestly think, expect, and trust that the new authorities will continue to deliver and we would not go into speculations in terms of what if they don’t deliver,” European Commission Spokesperson Peter Stano said.
