Tuesday saw yet another failed attempt to put the Defenders Draft-Law on the agenda of the session of the Social Policy Committee.
Though SDSM underlined the “need” to amend the already adopted Defenders Law, the Committee’s Chair, European Front MP Ilire Dauti, described the Draft-Law’s text as incomplete, adding it didn’t cover the rights of members of the former KLA.
“As long as I am the Chair, I will not put it on the agenda,” she stated.
Her comments were met with fierce criticism from VMRO-DPMNE MPs. However, VLEN supported Dauti’s decision for there to be no debate on the Draft-Law. The session has been interrupted indefinitely, while ethnic Macedonian MPs have announced they will block Parliament’s body.
