On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski had separate phone conversations with counterparts Schallenberg (Austria), Odobescu (Romania), Fajon (Slovenia), and Grlic Radman (Croatia). The conversations focused on the active wildfires in North Macedonia.

Support was offered to North Macedonia in that regard. Part of the support process is being carried out in the frames of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

“We highly appreciate the readiness from our friends from Austria, Greece, Romania, Slovenia, and Croatia for support in the efforts to deal with the active wildfires,” Mucunski said, expressing great gratitude for the assistance.

Additionally, Mucunski had a phone conversation with Greek counterpart Gerapetritis during which the need and readiness for mutual cooperation in dealing with wildfires was highlighted.
