In response to the comments by Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis that there was no room for the double formula (using the name ‘Macedonia’ domestically and the constitutional name abroad) regarding the Prespa Agreement’s implementation, PM-designate Hristijan Mickoski said on Thursday he was getting ready for the unpleasant situation Mitsotakis had talked about.
He believes that he has arguments on his side that, as he stated, he will use, if necessary, to discuss at the NATO Summit in Washington next month. The event is most likely the first opportunity for a meeting between the two.
“I am getting ready. I am a person who loves challenges. I’d love to see that challenge. My position’s clear.
About that, nobody should have dilemmas. If there are in Europe, and I believe there aren’t, European politicians that describe themselves as modern, contemporary politicians of the 21st century, despite having Taliban-like motives and therefore want to endanger the human right that is protected by many international conventions, I will then be ready to discuss and debate with those people.
My interest is for us to build bridges, not to bring them down, for us to talk on the basis of arguments and facts. I am ready to talk by using facts not only at the NATO Summit, but also anywhere,” he stressed.
