The names of VMRO-DPMNE’s first candidates for the local elections will be revealed towards the end of May or at the start of June.
“Everyone that has a vision has a chance too”, the party’s leader, PM Hristijan Mickoski said on Tuesday, adding that everyone who had a programme should apply, which would then be followed by the party’s membership voicing a stand on them as a potential candidate.
One of those hoping to be part of the mayoral races is the current Local Self-Government Minister, Zlatko Perinski.
He again said his ambition was to succeed Danela Arsovska as Skopje Mayor. When it comes to the opposition, in response to SDSM leader Venko Filipce’s stand that his party will not be part of a coalition with DUI, Ali Ahmeti’s party said that it had a partnership with citizens.
“That’s what matters most. The coalition with the other parties within the European Front didn’t concern just one election cycle. It’s in the context of a broader picture”, DUI added.
