New Criticism over Ahmeti’s Comments on Ethnic Macedonians

On Wednesday, VMRO-DPMNE and VLEN slammed the statement made by Ali Ahmeti at DUI’s marking of the anniversary of the Ohrid Framework Agreement the previous day, when he had sent a message to ethnic Macedonians, saying that they would either cooperate with ethnic Albanians or cease to exist because Serbs, Greeks, and Bulgarians would take away their identity.

“It’s time to stop divisions. Very often, he cites such divisions, cites ethnic passions. We saw how they used those things just to get personally rich,” VMRO-DPMNE’s MP Mile Lefkov said.

VLEN stated that Ahmeti’s messages were just an attempt to hide the party leadership’s criminal past. Once again, the coalition criticised the separate marking of the Agreement’s anniversary.
