New Law Enables Musliu to Continue to Head Intelligence Agency

The head of the Intelligence Agency is directly appointed by the President. Currently, Erold Musliu is the Agency’s Director.

He was criticised by the President, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, who said he had been appointed even though he hadn’t taken a lie detector test. However, the new law concerning the Agency has introduced a four-year term for the head position.

Musliu started his four-year term in May 2023. He will be replaced only if he resigns or if he breaks the law. Siljanovska Davkova said on Tuesday there was no proposal to replace him.

“If one’s term hasn’t expired, they can be replaced only if they commit some violations. So, his term is underway. I still don’t know and cannot reveal whether there were some breaches,” she stated.
