New Reactions to Gashi’s Use of Official Vehicle to Head to Wedding in Kosovo

Commenting on SDSM’s press-conference at which the opposition party slammed Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi’s decision to head to Kosovo for a wedding in an official vehicle and accompanied by his security detail, and urged the Interior Ministry to make public travel orders about the visit, VMRO-DPMNE said there were mandatory protocols and constant accompaniment when it came to the person holding the position of Speaker of the legislative house.

“Does SDS[M] believe that the laws should have been broken in the Gashi case? This country has institutions. SDS[M] struggles to realise that because during its time as the ruling party, ministers were playing football in their cabinets during work hours, police officers were hitting themselves in tow trucks [a reference to the Jasmina Janackova-Bekir Asani case], fire would be opened from Kalashinkovs in the presence of [DUI leader Ali] Ahmeti, while Oliver Spasovski [as the Interior Minister] would issue passports to mobsters,” VMRO-DPMNE stated.

On the other hand, Levica believes that Gashi’s visit to Kosovo is an additional reason why VMRO-DPMNE should support its no-confidence motion against the Speaker.
