Judicial Council President Sasko Georgiev said on Tuesday the body was waiting to get a translated, Macedonian, version of the European Commission’s Report, even though it had principally considered it.
“We’re preparing a stand. I can say that, generally speaking, the Report contains the detected real problems in the judiciary and Council, and I expect it to be a signal for, through potential changes to the law, that is, with our action to improve the full picture, I will say again, restore faith in the judiciary,” he pointed out.
According to the Report, the “controversial” dismissal of Vesna Dameva as President of the Council raised concerns about undue political influence. When it comes to the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), the body’s President, Biljana Ivanovska, stated that the Commission had received a positive mark.
