In an interview with Kanal 5 on Thursday, VMRO-DPMNE’s Aleksandar Nikoloski said regarding Bulgaria that his party was not asking for a change to the negotiating framework.
“What we ask for is first, Bulgaria respecting its obligations and, second, that we will not make constitutional changes under a Bulgarian dictate. If the EU considers Macedonia should negotiate and become a member, there are very easy mechanisms through which it can make Bulgaria lift the veto. If they don’t think we should negotiate, then we will not negotiate and we will develop the country independently,” he said.
