Norway Donating 76 Military Vehicles to North Macedonia

Norway has sent a donation of 76 military vehicles to North Macedonia. The transport of the 40 lorries and 36 light infantry vehicles started on Monday, at Orkanger Port.

The 76 vehicles will be transported to Thessaloniki by ship. The donation, the Norwegian Embassy explained, will be used to equip the Light Infantry Battalion.

“The donation symbolises the importance of NATO solidarity and cooperation between members. The ability of the Alliance to respond to a crisis or a conflict depends on the force and solidarity of all members, not of just a single nation. On 4 April, NATO will celebrate its 75th birthday. Both countries have a long history of bilateral cooperation. Since North Macedonia’s NATO entry in 2020, cooperation has grown even stronger,” the Embassy added.

The donation, it was also pointed out, represents also an indirect donation to Ukraine, since North Macedonia previously donated a significant amount of equipment to Ukraine.
