The Interior Ministry’s Department of Suppression of Organised and Serious Crime has submitted a notification to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption over grounds of suspicions of criminal acts committed by official persons who made decisions on the issue of extradition of former KLA member Blerim Ramadani and acted on them.
The Court, the Ministry said on Thursday, made a decision that state institutions were hard-pressed to enforce in full, while the measure of house arrest against foreign citizens at another’s address is unprecedented in practice so far.
Regarding media reports related to the house arrest escape, the Ministry also said, on 17 July, Ramadani was detained at the Jazince crossing and handed over to the Tetovo Internal Affairs Sector, which was followed by him being taken before court organs.
“We highlight that the Court’s further action doesn’t fall under the competence of the Ministry. However, considering the gravity and seriousness of the crime he’s charged with and considering it’s about a foreign citizen, the Court made a decision that state institutions were hard-pressed to enforce in full. Namely, the measure of house arrest against foreign citizens at another’s address is unprecedented in practice so far,” it underlined.
Despite that, it was added, the Ministry continues to take all measures and activities.
