The Macedonian people is used to its right to existence being denied and to its cultures and history being taken away, but what’s scary is that over the past period, there has been not only denial from abroad, but also people have self-denied themselves from within, self-giving up on the identity, the Head of the Ohrid Archdiocese, Stefan, said at the forum to protect the Macedonian identity, held on Thursday.
As he added, the strongest blow being delivered to Macedonians is the idea of non-existence of a historical Macedonian root and Macedonian identity, while what’s even sadder, in his view, is that some do it for personal gain or to serve foreign interests.
