Ombudsperson Naser Ziberi has received petitions from citizens related to travel documents that have to be changed by 12 February to include the country’s constitutional name.
In Sunday’s interview with Radio Free Europe, Ziberi said the petitions mainly concerned problems with making an appointment and the compensation to get new documents.
Since 1 January, citizens have also informed the Ombudsperson that they haven’t been able to get the documents within eight days. Ziberi will ask the Interior Ministry why citizens aren’t able to get the documents on time. In his view, there is a lack of templates for both bilingual passports and the other documents.
Asked whether he was planning to once again run for President, Ziberi said he wasn’t. He even stressed that he had rejected an offer to be the caretaker PM.
