Regarding the Pardon Draft-Law, the opposition has announced it will be blocking the adoption in Parliament by filing amendments.
The process to file amendments is enabled by the fact that the shortened procedure will be used in Parliament, not the so-called EU flag one. On Wednesday, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said opposition MPs would submit numerous amendments in order to halt the work in Parliament. As he added, that will be done to prevent “criminals from being released from prison, criminals who have been promised that by ruling parties in exchange for a favour”.
In response, PM Dimitar Kovacevski said he was not surprised by Mickoski’s comments. The Justice Ministry said it would present more details about the Draft-Law on Thursday.
