Part of ministers attending the OSCE Ministerial Council boycotted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s speech on Thursday, that is, they left the hall when it started.
Lavrov started his speech by levelling accusations at EU and NATO members, stating that they had destroyed the OSCE’s military-political dimension. According to Lavrov, the Organisation is in a bad situation and was destroyed as early as 1999, with NATO’s bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
He also criticised the developments regarding Kosovo’s status in 2008, as well as the West’s sanctions against his country. As the Russian Minister stressed, in an attempt to bring down Russia’s economy, the US and its “European satellites” have introduced thousands of sanctions.
