Outgoing Bulgarian Ambassador Believes Word ‘Negotiations’ shouldn’t Be Used

Outgoing Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Angelov, whose term ends on Friday, hopes that his country will get a new government after the 27 October elections and that intensive dialogue between Skopje and Sofia will be able to be started after that.

According to him, “intensive dialogue” should be used instead of the word “negotiations”.

“We hope we will get a government with which we will be able to enter intensive dialogue. Sure enough, not negotiations, because there cannot be negotiations on something that’s been agreed. The implementation of what’s been agreed must start too. We will not be changing geography and we will remain neighbours. We should have intensive communication, including also in relation to the Joint Commission on Historical Affairs,” Angelov stressed.
