On Thursday afternoon, the Crisis Management Centre said there were over 20 active wildfires in the country.
The institution’s head, Stojance Angelov, added that the Galicica wildfire had been “unpleasant”, stressing that 120 persons were dealing with the situation.
There were also wildfires in the Makedonski Brod, Rostuse, Bitola, Plasnica, and Kicevo regions.
According to PM Hristijan Mickoski, the wildfire situation is under control. However, he said he doubted things were happening by accident.
“Nobody can convince me that the country facing 40 wildfires every day is an accident,” he stressed.
