Parents of Those Killed in Kocani Fire Describe Tragedy as Mass Murder

In a written statement, parents of those killed in the Kocani fire have said they called for accountability of all involved persons and institutions. Also, they describe the tragedy as mass murder.

The parents also point out that, if domestic institutions don’t do their job, they are ready to start a process even before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

“We characterise this tragedy as mass murder and grave endangerment of human lives and safety, while we demand that relevant institutions act professionally, without bias, and in accordance with valid laws and international conventions. It is necessary to determine whether someone’s negligence, abuse or unlawful action led to this tragedy”, it is added in the statement.
