The membership of the four persons part of the Council of Public Prosecutors elected in Parliament is stable.
Parliamentary sources have told Telma that the situation is currently in a status quo and that there are no plans for next steps or dismissal of members by the Political System Committee.
Four months ago, MPs presented a negative stand on the body’s work and didn’t adopt its Annual Report. Since then, too, however, politicians have continued to call the Council out, saying judicial reforms should start from it.
However, as Telma reported on Monday, due to stands from domestic experts and EU politicians that dismissals will lead to an impasse, Parliament has pointed out that the idea will bring nothing good, considering that if the four members are dismissed, the Council will have problems from a majority standpoint.
