President Stevo Pendarovski has decided against signing the Decree for promulgation of the Law on Games of Chance and Entertainment Games, passed in Parliament on 7 February.
As his Cabinet explained on Tuesday, the decision was made on the basis of a detailed analysis of the text of the Law and procedure in which it was passed, as well as following consultations with the EU Delegation, “as our most important partner of the country in the negotiations process”.
According to Pendarovski, the changes and amendments were adopted through improper use of the so-called EU flag procedure, in a situation of absence of the essential acquis of the EU in areas covered by the Law, which doesn’t even refer to limited EU acquis that may be relevant.
