After the meeting that he and PM Hristijan Mickoski held on Monday with Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska, Local Self-Government Minister Zlatko Perinski said the central authorities were much more worried than they had been prior to the meeting.
“We didn’t hear anything constructive from them. The situation is desperate. The conclusion is that there being no communication between Council groups within the City of Skopje is one stage of the obstacles.
That is why the Mayor proposed for her to draw up some plan, by the end of this week, which will be presented to Council members. However, I must admit we don’t have great expectations. In that regard, we will wait to see what type of plan will have been adopted by the end of this week. On the basis of those conclusions, we will make conclusions,” Perinski pointed out.
Though Arsovska had said before the meeting she would give a statement after it, on the premises of the City of Skopje, she changed her mind.
Instead, the press conference will be held at 11 am on Tuesday (20 August). Commenting on the meeting, SDSM said Mickoski and Arsovska had been the ones that had destroyed Skopje.
“We hope that this meeting saw a discussion also on how they will split the cookie jar in order for them to stop blocking each other and destroying Skopje,” the party added.
