Pivovarov Announces Debate on Determining Integrity of Officers at Borders

At a press-conference on Wednesday, Border Management National Coordinator Vladimir Pivovarov announced that a series of debates would start on determining the integrity of all officers who have high-risk jobs at the country’s borders through a lie detector test, as a preventive measure to prevent potential corruption.

The project follows the 27 February conclusions by the Government for the Border Management National Coordination Centre to start preparations to open a public debate on the matter, implement them, and file a report to the Government on the debate, with a proposal for further action.

Polygraph examiners will be in the frames of Parliament as a new body. They themselves will take a lie detector test occasionally. Every person who will fail the test will be suspended from their job and immediately reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
