On Friday, PM Dimitar Kovacevski said the election timing should be agreed by the working group discussing the changes to the Electoral Code. He called on VMRO-DPMNE to delegate a representative to the body.
In the PM’s view, that’s the right way because every other format of reaching a deal would not be institutional.
The election topic was among the issues discussed also at four meetings he had in Parliament with coalition partners, including with DUI leader Ali Ahmeti. On the other hand, the opposition from the ethnic Albanian bloc, BESA, Democratic Movement, and Alternative, said SDSM and DUI were no longer in a position to dictate what would be happening.
The three parties added that their priority was creating conditions for free and fair elections.
