PM Kovacevski Responds to Mickoski’s Comments on Leaders’ Meeting

According to PM Dimitar Kovacevski, though a leaders’ meeting can be held again, there is a more important issue in the country than elections, which, in his view, will be held in the regular period.

As he said on Thursday, the more important matter is the decision to continue the EU path.

“What still stands is that offer that we can as early as Monday schedule a session of Parliament where the constitutional amendments will be voted through and elections will be scheduled the same day. I’m talking about early parliamentary elections.

Also, the other proposal is on the table, which is for a start of the constitutional changes process, for VMRO-DPMNE to be part of the Government. For the elections to be prepared, for, at the same time, the screening to be completed, for the chapters from the first cluster to be opened, for us to close one or two chapters, and for us to then have presidential and parliamentary elections,” the PM noted.
