At CPAC 2025 Day Two, PM Hristijan Mickoski said his country had made a lot of concessions yet faced the EU’s double standards. In that regard, he explained again why he had been among the few that had applauded the speech of US Vice President JD Vance at the Munich Security Conference.
Regarding his country, the PM also stated that it was Europe’s gate where people fostering traditional and family values to which the Donald Trump administration is committed, too, adding that, as a result, the US President was very popular among Macedonians domestically and those part of the diaspora.
When it comes to NATO membership, Mickoski said his country was one of the greatest contributors per capita. As far as Trump’s policies on funding the Alliance are concerned, the PM stated that he was in line with the US President’s policies.
He also said that that was the case with regards to the US President’s policies on fighting illegal migration.
Regarding the possibility of US investments in North Macedonia’s energy sector, the PM talked about the construction of the interconnector with Greece.
