PM Mickoski Comments on Several Topics

“I don’t think we have open issues at that level with Albania. Those are artificial topics,” PM Hristijan Mickoski said on Tuesday, asked to comment on the stand presented the previous day by Albanian Speaker Elisa Spiropali, who had stated that if Albanian was endangered, the identity of ethnic Albanians in North Macedonia, too, was endangered.

The PM stressed that he personally respected the Albanian language and that not only was it not endangered, but also it had been elevated.

Answering another journalist’s question, Mickoski said that the Government would be procuring electric and hybrid vehicles because that was a more cost-effective option and an eco-friendly one.

“I expect us to do this soon. However, it will certainly not be done this year because that has to be provided for in the 2025 budget,” Mickoski noted.

2025, the PM also explained, will see higher salaries for, inter alia, teachers, public administration sector and Health Insurance fund employees. Also, according to the PM, the new government will make North Macedonia independent from an energy standpoint, that is, when it comes to import of electricity.
