PM Mickoski Comments on Several Topics, SDSM and DUI React

On Sunday, PM and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said there would be a so-called cleanup within the cabinet and his party that would come towards the end of the year, after the regular session of the ruling party’s Congress. In that regard, he added that there would no longer be room for those that would let citizens down.

With regards to the local elections, the names of some candidates will be revealed towards the end of May. Mickoski is convinced his party will be the election winner.

Regarding events in the ethnic Albanian political bloc, he said that the partnership between the Alliance for Albanians’ wing and DUI would last until Arben Taravari got a better offer. As he assessed, if “such practice” continues, the wing will fall apart and merge with DUI.

As far as the Kocani fire is concerned, he called for the matter not to be exploited, adding also that he would do everything for the families impacted by the tragedy to be helped. In response to his comments, SDSM said Mickoski’s “admission” that his cabinet was a “disaster” was belated.

“The damages he’s caused in less than a year are irreparable, while the future of citizens and their standard has been destroyed”, the opposition party said.

DUI reacted, too, saying the PM had continued his nationalist agenda that aimed to create only “subservient Albanians – obedient, voiceless, and decorative ones”.
