On Monday, asked whether, following the US visit, he expected President Donald Trump’s administration to help North Macedonia with regards to the issue with Bulgaria on the EU path, PM Hristijan Mickoski said that based on the contacts from President Donald Trump’s “closest perimeter, we can only gain, not lose”.
“I have a feeling, and what I was also to see and hear myself, that slowly yet surely, from Washington, the new normal will spread and reign everywhere around the world. We’re among the first ones that have supported the new normal”, he noted.
Also, the PM again stressed that the dispute with the eastern neighbour was one that, generally speaking, had nothing to do with 21st-century values. When it comes to CDU/CSU’s victory in the German elections, the PM expects it to result in even greater strengthening of Skopje-Berlin relations.
