In a statement from Budapest about activities in the frames of the European Political Community (EPC) meeting on Thursday, PM Hristijan Mickoski said his country’s place was in the EU.
“After this EPC meeting in Budapest, I am even more optimistic that we will have to make it and we will make it. What matters is that we will give our best to defend national interests of our citizens and our fatherland,” he said, adding that at the many meetings with European statespersons, the country’s views on the EU path had been presented and well-argued.
Among those the PM met on the sidelines of the event was French President Emmanuel Macron. On social media, Mickoski said regarding the meeting that there had been an open discussion on unblocking the EU path.
“I am optimistic about our future, we’re fighting for our arguments and the truth,” he pointed out.
