On Wednesday, PM Hristijan Mickoski, accompanied by Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister Timco Mucunski, met with Richard Grenell, former Acting Director of National Intelligence in then-US President Trump’s Cabinet in 2020.
There was a discussion on current events in the Western Balkans. In that regard, the importance of maintaining peace, security, stability, as well as of deepening relations and cooperation between countries in the region, was highlighted.
Special attention was paid to US-North Macedonia relations, as well as to opportunities to additionally strengthen those ties.
Opportunities to utilise potentials of future joint investments in projects of significance to the region were analysed during the meeting.
In that context, the opportunity for potential US participation in the Cebren energy project, which, as the Government said in the press-release, is of strategic importance to the country’s energy independence, was considered.
