PM Mickoski in Interview with Fokus

In an interview with Fokus, PM Hristijan Mickoski says if elections were held today, VMRO-DPMNE would win up to 450,000 votes, whereas SDSM would fall below 125,000.

In his view, DUI and VLEN would each get around 110,000 votes.

“Despite the all-time low of SDSM, they would be the largest opposition party. If we look at it through the prism of party interest, I am, normally, satisfied. However, that doesn’t make me happy because this result reflects the very bad situation in the country and disappointed citizens,” he notes.

Regarding DUI’s stand on the so-called winner-with-winner principle and a concept about territorial reorganisation according to Belgium’s model, Mickoski says that DUI, with its irresponsible behaviour, is endangering the interethnic picture in the country and posing a threat to the country’s peace and stability.

When it comes to the Judicial Council and Council of Public Prosecutors, the PM considers that since nobody has so far offered any other model, the government’s proposal is for judges and prosecutors to elect members of the two institutions, as well as for them to get greater independence through an autonomous budget, linked in terms of percentage to the state one.
