PM Mickoski Maintains Stand on Name Use Issue hasn’t Changed

In Monday’s interview with 24, PM Hristijan Mickoski said his stand regarding the constitutional name use issue was clear, adding that the topic regarding the adjective was closed.

According to him, it is actually a change that he, unlike the former PM, Dimitar Kovacevski, “who would sing” the adjective, uses the word ‘Macedonia’.

“They would promise us we would become EU members. Previously, we’d changed the flag, we would change the Constitution. We changed the name, a false campaign was sold about free services in the health sector even though things were at an all-time low. Instead of getting support for my defiance, I’ve been the subject of attacks by Greece because I use ‘Macedonia’ in colloquial use,” the PM stressed, criticising also the current opposition “which sold out everything that could have been sold out”.
