PM: No Proposal for Judicial Reform Filed, but Government has Clear Plan

In response to criticism over why there haven’t been arrests over alleged major crime and corruption, PM Hristijan Mickoski has urged citizens to be patient, stressing that the country’s judicial system is captured, in addition to being a victim of party obstructions.

“I’m not talking about all prosecutors and judges. I’m talking about a small group of them that are party obeyers and that contaminate our whole judicial system,” he said on Tuesday.

Mickoski also stated that the deadline for proposals for judicial reforms had expired the previous day, adding that the Government had received none. However, he added the cabinet had a clear plan for reforms.

“We have a methodology, a plan, a clear plan on how things should be done,” the PM explained, underlining that there were consultations with experts that would be hired in the period ahead, as well as that there would be an action plan.
