PM: There’ll Be Early Parliamentary Polls if Ruling Coalition Loses Local Ones

“If we lose the local elections, we can then head to early parliamentary polls”, PM and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said on Thursday, adding that next year’s local polls would be a test that would show how the government functioned.

According to him, though his party and the coalition led by it are ready for early elections at any moment, even tomorrow, such a process, together with the local polls, would create unnecessary costs.

Regarding the meeting between President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova and Bulgarian counterpart Radev in Baku, the PM stated that though he didn’t know what vocabulary had been used, the atmosphere had been friendly and good. Radev heard the same arguments that have been presented before the strategic partners, too, Mickoski underlined.

The PM hopes that the country will have been able to proceed on the EU path by the end of the year, without specifying whether the constitutional changes issue would be solved.
