Political Reactions to Attack on Rade Trajkovski

Interior Minister Pance Toskovski has reacted to the information that Rade Trajkovski (aka Stekli) was injured after an explosive device had been thrown at and gone off in the yard of his house in the settlement of Kjeramidnica in Skopje.

“It’s good that nobody’s condition is life-threatening. However, it’s bad that the criminal gangs roam today too. However, we, as institutions, will properly, resolutely, and cruelly respond to all those disturbing the Macedonian citizens’ peace,” he said on Thursday.

Asked whether attackers could be found considering the attack had been announced on TikTok, the Minister stated his institution would act in the frames of its capacities.

“The Interior Ministry cannot do wonders. However, it can do honest, committed, and professional work. In the frames of our capacities and all competences, the Ministry will act and not turn a blind eye, which was the case in the past,” the Minister noted.

In response to his comments, SDSM said criminal confrontations and bombs going off had become an everyday occurrence.

“Streets are not safe. Toskovski doesn’t have the capacity to protect citizens,” the opposition party stressed.
