Commenting on the negotiating framework, in an interview with BGNES, EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi, who visited Sofia on Monday, stated that assumed obligations had to be fulfilled.
As he pointed out, the criteria have been very clear since the adoption of the framework in 2022. The Commissioner doesn’t expect any change in that regard. He hopes that after the elections, the new government will get to work and continue to meet criteria.
The pre-election promises in North Macedonia over the matter were discussed at Varhelyi’s meeting with Rumen Radev. As the Bulgarian President’s Cabinet said, he condemned the statements about a potential change of the framework.
Radev’s adamant that after the elections, the situation in North Macedonia will enable the solution reached in 2022 to be fully implemented.
